Cloudflare Basin platform launch and financial results

Overview

Cloudflare has announced the general availability of Basin, a serverless data platform built on Apache Iceberg and Cloudflare R2. The platform is designed to simplify data collection, storage, and analysis through three integrated services: Basin Pipelines, Basin Catalog, and Basin SQL.

By utilizing open standards, the platform aims to prevent vendor lock-in and allow compatibility with external query engines like Snowflake, Spark, DuckDB, and Trino. It is intended to reduce the need for dedicated data engineering infrastructure by allowing developers to ingest and query data without managing clusters or provisioning servers. Additionally, the platform features an absence of data transfer or egress fees.

In separate financial reporting, Cloudflare announced second-quarter 2026 revenue of $696.06 million, a 35.90 percent increase year-over-year, which exceeded analyst estimates. The company provided revenue guidance for the third quarter of 2026 between $736 million and $737 million.
