Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas has reported various administrative and social developments within the state of Coahuila. Early reports highlighted economic growth and industrial activity, including new investments from Waelzholz and vehicle donations from General Motors to support local programs in Ramos Arizpe.

Following these economic updates, the administration shifted focus toward social inclusion and disability support in the Centro-Desierto region. Through the ‘Veamos la Discapacidad’ program, the state distributed orthopedic devices, hearing aids, and UNEDIF units, alongside 10,000 peso scholarships. The Governor announced plans to allocate over 300 million pesos throughout 2026 to expand these services across all 38 municipalities.

Recent developments confirm the continued implementation of the ‘Veamos la Discapacidad’ program, which provides orthopedic and hearing devices alongside the 10,000 peso scholarships as part of the broader 300 million peso investment. Additionally, President Claudia Sheinbaum presented a regional report in Coahuila, noting that nearly 885,000 residents receive social welfare support, representing an investment of over 19 billion pesos. The President also detailed major infrastructure projects, including the construction of a passenger train connecting Mexico City, Saltillo, Monterrey, and Nuevo Laredo, as well as highway expansions and new hospital constructions.

Looking toward the end of 2026, the Ministry of Welfare projects that 42.8 million Mexicans will benefit from various welfare programs, with a total social investment reaching 1 trillion pesos. These national initiatives include pensions for seniors, disability support, and various educational and health-related programs.
