Coatzacoalcos infrastructure upgrades

Entities: Xalapa City Hall · Daniela Griego Ceballos · Coatzacoalcos · Orlando Solís · Fredepo neighborhood

Overview

In early July 2026, Mayor Pedro Miguel Rosaldo García inspected the municipal response to a sinkhole that had opened on Boulevard del Bosque in the Pensiones neighbourhood. Together with public works director Orlando Solís, he oversaw a staged reconstruction that involved breaking pavement, checking underground utilities, repairing damage, laying a hydraulic base, compacting soil and repaving. The city projected a one‑month timeline and stressed adherence to technical standards and ongoing monitoring.

Later in July, the same mayor officially reopened the "Ramón Figuerola Ruiz" Avenue One Bridge after a comprehensive rehabilitation—the first full overhaul in 22 years. The project replaced concrete slabs, repaired joints, improved curves and ramps, repainted the deck, upgraded lighting and added reflective lane markings and metal curbs. The works, also coordinated by Director Solís, are part of the 2026 General Investment Program and aim to enhance road safety and mobility for more than 16,000 residents.

Both events illustrate the city’s focused effort to address critical urban infrastructure, improve safety for motorists and pedestrians, and demonstrate a pattern of municipal investment and maintenance under Mayor Rosaldo’s administration.
