Colombia health sector leadership appointments

Overview

Colombia has undergone a series of leadership appointments within its health oversight and regulatory sectors.

In mid-August, Mónica Rocío Lombana García was sworn in as acting National Superintendent of Health to focus on system inspection and resource protection. Concurrently, Ana Rivière Cinnamond assumed the role of representative for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Colombia.

Later in the month, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection appointed Hanna Dimelsa Escobar Correa as director of Medicines and Health Technologies to oversee pharmaceutical policy and drug regulation. Additionally, Sindy Pahola Pulgarín Madrigal was named the new general director of INVIMA, succeeding Francisco Rossi.
