At that meeting in Bogotá the G8 formally presented the 50/50 plan, emphasized the need for a stable financial base while rewarding on‑field success, and announced they would not transfer intangible or image rights under any new broadcast contract until the distribution model is resolved. The assembly will review the proposal together with the evaluation of broadcast‑rights offers, including ongoing negotiations with Win Sports on a contract valued at roughly US$73 million.

Smaller clubs have warned that a merit‑weighted split could jeopardise their financial viability, underscoring the high stakes for the overall financial structure of Colombian football.
