Colombian law enforcement public safety operations

Overview

Colombian law enforcement has engaged in various public safety and community-oriented operations. During the Amor y Amistad celebrations, authorities implemented widespread security deployments to maintain public order. In Magdalena, over 1,200 officers were mobilized, including specialized patrols to prevent gender-based and domestic violence. Bogotá utilized drones and aerial surveillance to monitor nightlife areas, while the Valle de Aburrá region saw significant police activity involving hundreds of citations and arrests related to brawls and coexistence code violations.

Following these security operations, the National Police shifted focus toward community outreach and social integration. In Bolívar, officers participated in local events to provide guidance on security and self-protection to citizens, with officials noting that local shopkeepers serve as “strategic allies for security and community stability.”
