Commercial development in Junín
Overview
The city of Junín has expanded its commercial infrastructure with the opening of the ALÓ! shopping center at the Nueva Terminal de Ómnibus Mario A. Meoni. Located at the intersection of National Route 7 and Avenida Circunvalación, the complex includes 23 stores specializing in clothing, gastronomy, technology, and decoration, as well as a skating rink.
Following the opening, the municipal government replaced the building’s original signage identifying it as the Bus Terminal with the private name “ALÓ!”. This decision has prompted debate regarding the use of public building identification to promote a private enterprise, given that the facility was constructed using public funds. Interim Mayor Juan Fiorini stated the project is intended to leverage Junín’s position as a commercial and service hub for the northwest Buenos Aires province.
