Community and youth initiatives in Catanzaro

Catanzaro has introduced several programs aimed at social and cultural development. The ‘Rigenerare comunità’ initiative launched five social entrepreneurship projects supported by Fondazione Carical, Fondazione con il Sud, and Fondazione Peppino Vismara. These projects, each receiving approximately 300,000 euros, focus on social inclusion, welfare, and employment for vulnerable populations in the Calabria and Basilicata regions to combat depopulation and marginalization.

In addition to social entrepreneurship, the city is seeing increased youth activity. Local youth held demonstrations regarding the cost of living, housing, and healthcare. Simultaneously, the Cap project, managed by Fondazione Politeama, has begun providing live performance training for sixteen local youths at the San Giovanni monumental complex. This program, scheduled to run until May 2027, includes training in acting, directing, and technical production to foster community ties through public performances.
