Community events in Guadalajara

Overview

Guadalajara held several community-focused events in its historic center and public spaces. To mark the fifth Municipal Torta Ahogada Day, the city government and the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Food Industry distributed 26,000 free tortas ahogadas to promote traditional gastronomy and support local vendors.

In a separate initiative for World Car Free Day, thousands of participants took part in the Mega Rodada 2026. Cyclists, skaters, and scooter riders completed a 15-kilometer route through major avenues such as Vallarta and López Mateos Sur to advocate for cyclist rights and safer public spaces.
