Community sports initiatives in Poland

Community-focused sports initiatives and events continue to expand across various regions in Poland.

In Łowicz, the ‘Aktywny Orlik 2026’ program has seen significant growth in its volleyball section for young girls, involving technical exercises and team-building mini-tournaments. Elbląg scheduled a multi-generational basketball tournament, ‘Gramy na Zatorzu’, for August 11, 2026, to promote community integration through age-specific matches.

In Bytom, the ‘Summer in the City’ initiative provided handball and fencing sessions at an Orlik facility, incorporating education on healthy eating and lifestyle habits. Dylewo’s ‘Moc, Pasja, Rodzina’ event featured football tournaments for various age groups, family relays, athletics demonstrations led by medalist Joanna Banach, and dance classes.

Recent developments for the latter half of 2026 include the Chęciny Mayor's Cup volleyball tournament on August 22 and the IX ‘Mieleckie Skrzydła’ fencing tournament for children and youth, scheduled for September 12-13.

A variety of running and athletic events have also been organized, including the 37th Peace Run in Roztocze (August 26-29), the Spartacus OCR & Trail run in Złotów (September 19), the inaugural Fort Run in Kłodzko (September 20), and the 10th Wojcieszów Walking Marathon (October 10). Youth-oriented activities include a roller skating competition in Lubin on August 30 featuring Olympic medalist Natalia Czerwonka, and the II Kindness Olympiad in Bytom on September 23.
