Commvault cyber resilience and recovery updates
Overview
Commvault has introduced several updates to its data resilience and recovery capabilities to combat cyber threats.
Initially, the company announced an integration with Google Threat Intelligence, incorporating Mandiant and VirusTotal data into its ‘Threat Scan’ workflows to help enterprises identify clean recovery points. This update also included an expansion of its Cloud Rewind solution for Microsoft Azure, which now covers 62 percent of market-relevant resources and utilizes ‘Protection Groups’ to combine application data and cloud configurations into an air-gapped recovery process.
Subsequently, Commvault launched ‘Active Directory Pre Recover,’ a solution aimed at reducing Active Directory restoration times from hours to minutes. The technology maintains an intact, standby copy of Active Directory within an isolated ‘Cleanroom’ environment. By using ‘Threat Scan’ to continuously analyze backups, the system ensures the standby copy remains free of malicious content, allowing for near-real-time failover during cyberattacks.
