Corrientes municipal administration initiatives
Overview
The Municipality of Corrientes has implemented several administrative and operational initiatives aimed at improving municipal services and economic activity.
In late September, the municipality began utilizing new tractors purchased with funds generated from its first public auction in 25 years. The auction of decommissioned vehicles and machinery raised approximately 54 million pesos, which was used to modernize the fleet for the Public Works and Public Services departments. One tractor has already been deployed for maintenance tasks along provincial routes and in Santa Catalina.
Following this, the administration, led by Mayor Claudio Polich, initiated efforts to simplify the commercial licensing process. Working with the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Corrientes, municipal officials are seeking to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and ‘demystify administrative procedures’ to encourage formal business registration and job creation.
