Corruption arrests in Telangana

Overview

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has conducted several arrests involving government and law enforcement officials for bribery.

In early September, the ACB arrested two individuals in Narayanpet, including a Sub-Registrar Grade-II, for allegedly demanding Rs 90,000 related to home registration services. In a separate incident in Sangareddy, a District Intermediate Education Officer was arrested for allegedly accepting Rs 20,000 to facilitate a college affiliation report.

By mid-September, the ACB arrested two senior officers from the Keesara Police Station, a Station House Officer and a Sub-Inspector, while they were allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5 lakh. The payment was reportedly demanded in exchange for granting station bail and preventing harassment regarding a registered case.
