Authorities in Turkey have launched multiple corruption investigations involving the misappropriation of public resources and tender fraud.

In the Bismil district of Diyarbakır, an investigation was initiated following allegations that 400 tons of potatoes intended for distribution to needy citizens were diverted, possibly to wholesalers and market vendors. This probe led to the arrest of the manager of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation and a foundation official. The situation resulted in significant bureaucratic reassignments, including the transfer of the Bismil District Governor to Giresun and the Chief Public Prosecutor to central Diyarbakır.

In Bolu, a separate investigation into embezzlement and tender fraud involving a municipal cooperative and its affiliated company led to five arrests. The probe, coordinated by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, centers on an estimated 24 million lira public loss. Forensic reports indicated that second-hand mushroom cultivation tents were falsely presented as new during a 2023 tender, with the municipality-owned company Boltartek purchasing them for 34.02 million lira despite a market value of approximately 10.1 million lira.
