Crans-Montana fire survivor recovery

Overview

Following a fire in Crans-Montana, survivors and their families have begun transitioning toward recovery and advocacy. The Oltre Crans-Montana Association recently organized a visit to the Monza National Circuit during the Italian Grand Prix to provide the young survivors and their families with a day of leisure away from hospital environments. During this event, association president Francesco Riva advocated for increased public safety and prevention, stating that safety in leisure facilities is “both a right for visitors and a duty for managers.”

In a further step toward normalcy, four students from Milan’s Liceo Virgilio have returned to their classroom after months of hospitalization and intensive care for burn injuries. To support their recovery, the school has implemented medical accommodations, such as moving the classroom to the ground floor, providing specialized seating, and installing fans to manage skin sensitivity. Their return to school is being managed gradually according to individual medical advice.
