Crime and arrests in Rhodes

Overview

In mid-August 2026, police in Rhodes conducted several operations resulting in the arrest of young individuals for various crimes.

On August 11, authorities arrested two men, aged 18 and 21, following a fraud scheme. The suspects allegedly impersonated an electric utility employee to convince a woman to move her valuables outdoors, where they were subsequently stolen. During the arrest, police seized 20,970 euros in cash, 70 cartridges, and various stolen items.

By August 16, police had also solved six separate theft cases involving three youths aged 14, 15, and 18. These incidents included the theft of cash and bags from vehicles, the theft of two motorcycles and a car, an attempted business break-in using a stolen vehicle, and the theft of cash from an outdoor money changer. Authorities recovered the stolen vehicles and seized counterfeit banknotes during the investigation.
