In Muzaffarnagar, the primary suspect, Sameer, has been arrested for the abduction and rape of a 14-year-old girl during Janmashtami celebrations in the Chhapar area. While the arrest has been made, police are continuing to investigate the roles of two other accomplices, Waleen and Salman.

In Rajatalab, Vivek Chaubey was apprehended during a police encounter in connection with the Shreya Upadhyay murder case; he reportedly killed Upadhyay due to anger over her arranged marriage. Additionally, in Kanpur, authorities solved the murder of pharmaceutical businessman Vineet Minocha. Investigations indicated that his daughter-in-law, Shalu, allegedly hired a domestic worker named Vishal to kill him due to resentment over his control of family finances. Vishal reportedly confessed to attacking Minocha 26 times with a knife.
