Crime incidents in Italy

Entities: Polizia di Stato · Reggio Emilia Province · Cinzia Napoli · Carabinieri · Falconara Alta

Overview

In late July, police in the towns of Civitavecchia and Falconara Alta reported unusual objects left at residences – blue candies and dried anchovies with pills – that were suspected of being used to test occupancy or as poisoned bait. Authorities warned residents to document and report such items while investigations began.

A week later, incidents of theft were reported in separate regions. In Alba Adriatica, thieves forced entry to a railway‑station bar and stole tobacco, lottery tickets and coffee equipment. In Albinea, a man stole Parmigiano Reggiano and cured meats from a supermarket before being pursued and apprehended. Both cases highlighted ongoing concerns about petty crime and security across various Italian locales.
