Criminal activity and police chases in Pesaro

Overview

Criminal activity in Pesaro escalated from a series of disturbances and vandalism to a high-speed police pursuit. Following the theft of a red Lancia Y in the Pantano district, a chase involving the Polizia di Stato and Carabinieri ended when the vehicle crashed into parked cars and a wall.

Authorities arrested a 20-year-old suspect and a minor for theft and resisting public officials, while a 40-year-old accomplice remains at large. The suspects were also linked to previous vandalism, such as the destruction of advertising signs on Viale della Repubblica. In response, Mayor Andrea Biancani declared a policy of “zero tolerance” and initiated a review of surveillance footage to identify all responsible parties.
