Criminal incidents in Mexico and Costa Rica

Overview

Authorities in Mexico and Costa Rica are investigating various violent and suspicious incidents.

In early August, an attempted robbery occurred on the Arco Norte highway in Tlaxcala, Mexico, where assailants used stones and tires to obstruct vehicles. Concurrently in Costa Rica, a man was found dead with multiple stab wounds at a bus stop in Jiménez de Cartago.

Later in the month, new fatalities were reported. In San José, Costa Rica, a man was discovered in a ditch near the La Platina bridge; investigators suspect he may have been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. In Briseñas, Mexico, another man was found dead near the Puente de Arcos, with officials investigating whether the death was related to a mechanical issue or other factors.
