Criminal investigations in Ghana

Overview

Police in Ghana have conducted several arrests following separate violent incidents. In Gomoa Buduburam, authorities arrested Kingsley Ozor, 40, and Jeffery Otaigbe, 19, in connection with the suspected murder and sexual assault of 11-year-old Blessing Innocent. Investigators allege Otaigbe lured the child into an unfinished building before she was found deceased.

In a separate investigation in Sakumono, Greater Accra Region, police arrested Beatrice Mumuni, 47, regarding the killings of George Atuguba, 57, and Irene Atuguba, 47. It is reported that Mumuni allegedly led Samuel Christopher Osei Anto to the victims' residence to demand repayment of a GH¢500,000 debt, which reportedly led to the victims being shot. The victims were pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital, and authorities have declared Osei Anto wanted, offering a GH¢100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Additionally, in Techiman, police arrested 21-year-old Peter Nchor Asadigina and 19-year-old Mudasel Dramani. The suspects are accused of murdering Agartha Takyiwa, a 22-year-old Fabulous Ladies FC defender, during a struggle over her commercial tricycle in the Ashanti Region. Investigators reportedly tracked the suspects using a location signal from the victim's stolen mobile phone. Recovered items from the scene include a green Bajaj tricycle and several electronic devices.
