Croatian emergency medical fleet expansions

Overview

Emergency medical institutes in various Croatian counties are expanding and renewing their vehicle fleets.

In Zagreb County, the Emergency Medical Institute received an initial group of five new ambulances valued at 618,750 euros. These vehicles are being distributed to medical stations in Jastrebarsko, Samobor, Zaprešić, Velika Gorica, and Sveti Ivan Zelina. A second phase of deliveries, including three ambulances and six sanitary transport vehicles, is expected in the autumn to serve areas such as Ivanić-Grad, Dugo Selo, and Vrbovcu.

Similarly, the Emergency Medical Institute of Varaždin County acquired five new vehicles—four for sanitary transport and one for emergency medical assistance—valued at 763,000 euros. County officials noted that more than half of the Varaždin fleet has been renewed over the last five years, maintaining an average vehicle age of approximately five years. The new vehicles include active air suspension to improve patient safety and comfort.
