Cueca dance championships in Malleco Province

The Malleco Province is conducting various Cueca dance championships to celebrate Chilean national traditions.

Preparations began for the 2026 Provincial School Cueca Championship, scheduled for September 10 at the Complejo Educacional Collipulli. This event aims to bring together young dancers from all eleven communes in the province, following local selections such as the championship held in Traiguén.

In a separate event, the XXVI Provincial Cueca Championship for Seniors was held at the Municipal Theater in Angol. José Toledo Torres and Elita Molina Verdugo from Angol won first place and will represent the province at the regional stage. The ceremony was attended by regional authorities, including Provincial Presidential Delegate Víctor Manoli Nazal and Senator Miguel Becker Alvear.
