Cultural activities in San Juan

Overview

The San Juan provincial government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, has implemented a series of cultural and artistic programs throughout August 2026.

Initial activities began at Chalet Cantoni with various workshops including oil painting, watercolor, botanical embroidery, textile-bookmaking, and Japanese traditional painting.

By mid-August, the cultural agenda expanded to include the ‘Arte por la Paz’ cycle, which features Japanese culture, origami, and an installation titled ‘1000 Grullas por la Paz’ in tribute to Noelia Ávila. Concurrently, the province hosted the Festival Internacional Cuyo Contemporáneo at the Teatro del Bicentenario, alongside international choir festivals, dance showcases, and theatrical performances at the Teatro Sarmiento.
