Cultural and community events in Vietnam

Overview

Vietnam has hosted a variety of large-scale cultural, musical, and community-focused events. In early October, the Viettel Y-Fest 2026, themed ‘Rhythm of Life’, attracted over 35,000 people to Lai Chau, blending modern music with traditional ethnic cultural elements. Concurrently, the Vietnam Youth Federation planned the 2026 Youth Music Festival in Hanoi to raise funds for donating national flags to border and island communes.

Subsequent activities included the ‘Sound Freedom’ music night in Phú Thọ and the ‘Chắp cánh tuổi thơ’ program in Hanoi, which celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the Capital's Liberation. Beyond entertainment, the period saw developments in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and education, including initiatives for high-quality rice varieties in Hà Tĩnh and the inauguration of new leadership for the Young Entrepreneurs Association (YBA) Chợ Lớn.

New cultural initiatives have since been launched to promote national identity through music. The program ‘Thay loi muon noi’ returns in October 2026 with the theme ‘Dường như là mùa thu’ (Seems like Autumn), featuring a charitable component where 100,000 VND from each ticket sale is donated to the Vietnam Fatherland Front's fund for disadvantaged children. Additionally, the ‘Thanh am Viet Nam. Giai dieu cuoc song’ (Sounds of Vietnam. Melodies of Life) program has been introduced to stimulate musical creativity and showcase regional and ethnic sounds. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huy Dung noted the importance of Vietnam developing a unique musical voice to participate in the global community.
