Cultural and community festivals in Yongin

Overview

Yongin Special City is hosting a series of community-focused cultural and urban events throughout October 2026.

The programming begins with the 8th Yongin Book Festival on October 9, themed ‘Filling the Blanks of Daily Life with Reading.’ This event features an outdoor library, author talks, and a ‘Book-Free’ initiative to distribute approximately 8,000 decommissioned books to citizens.

Simultaneously, the Yongin Cultural Foundation is conducting a ‘Visiting Cultural Night Market’ series across the Giheung, Suji, and Cheoin districts. These evening events include flea markets, performances, and a Halloween-themed festival at Hansup Mulbit Park on October 30.

Additionally, the city will host the Singal O-geori Urban Regeneration Street Festival on October 24 in Giheung-gu. Designed to showcase urban regeneration achievements, the festival includes street performances, food trucks, and community-led art programs, with an emphasis on eco-friendly practices to reduce waste.
