Cultural and environmental events in Portugal and Brazil

Overview

Various cultural and environmental initiatives have been held or scheduled across Portugal and Brazil. In Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal, the “Ser Canto” workshop focused on vocal expression and music as a tool for communication, accompanied by the “Mais Alto!” concert which explored music in relation to social justice and human rights. In Itabira, Brazil, the 6th Flitabira International Literary Festival included a panel titled “Voz, Corpo e Palavra” regarding the connection between poetry, the voice, and the body.

In northern Portugal, the Space Festival 2026 is scheduled for Mondim de Basto, featuring experimental and improvised music. Additionally, the Serra d’Arga region will host the second Jornadas da Montanha in Montaria. This event, themed “O Nosso Chão: Pastagens e Pastores,” will address landscape management, rural fire prevention, and ecosystem protection through the lens of extensive grazing.
