Cultural and film festivals in Buenos Aires

Cultural events in the Buenos Aires region include the eighth edition of the Festival Internacional de Cine Ambiental (FINCA) and the fourth edition of the International Film Festival of the Province of Buenos Aires (FICPBA).

FINCA, organized by the Instituto Multimedia de Derechos Humanos, focuses on environmental and human rights themes under the slogan “Sembremos Futuro.” The festival features 35 films from 24 countries across five venues in Buenos Aires, covering topics such as biodiversity, climate justice, and Indigenous rights.

In the province, the FICPBA is scheduled to take place in La Plata and over 60 municipalities, showcasing more than 250 films from 28 countries and an international audiovisual market. This period also includes the Feria Plateada, a contemporary art fair held in La Plata that emphasizes inclusivity and decentralization.

Additional audiovisual and art events are expanding the cultural landscape. In Bahía Blanca, the first Audiovisual Fair (FABB) is being held to support industry, exhibition, and training for filmmakers, producers, and video game developers. In Buenos Aires, the 38th edition of the Women and Cinema Festival aims to promote female roles in film production, while the Cortar y Contar Film Festival, organized by the Argentine Society of Audiovisual Editors, highlights the art of film editing at Palacio Libertad. Furthermore, the 35th anniversary of the arteba contemporary art fair at La Rural features 70 galleries from around the world.
