Cultural and sporting events in Italy

Various cultural, social, and sporting events are scheduled across different Italian regions in September 2026.

In Latina, the fifth National Pre-Festival of Civil Economy will address the housing crisis and social inequality under the theme ‘Who is being left behind? Living together in a changing world’. Meanwhile, Florence will host a solo exhibition by artist Stefano Alvino as part of a collaboration with the Florence Biennale.

Other regional activities include the presentation of the Alba Italian Capital of Contemporary Art 2027 program in Alba, the Cuneo Organ Festival, and a light installation in Brescia.

Regarding sports, the 2026 WXV Global Series rugby tournament was officially presented at the Omero Tognon stadium in Fontanafredda. The competition is scheduled to begin on Saturday, September 19, with a match between the Italian women's national team and Japan. As part of the tournament, the Italian women's team will play two home matches in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region against Japan and South Africa before traveling to the United States for test matches in Mansfield and Nashville. The regional government has expressed support for the event, noting its role in promoting women's rugby and providing international visibility to the territory. Additionally, the presentation of AC Cuneo 1905’s new season plans has been noted.
