Cultural and theater developments in Serbia

Overview

In Serbia, cultural developments include theatrical performances and large-scale reconstruction plans. The Serbian National Theatre from Novi Sad is performing the comic opera ‘Pokondirena tikva’ at the Bečej City Theater.

Additionally, a reconstruction and adaptation concept has been presented for the theater in Zaječar. Included in the ‘Serbia 2028–2030’ plan, the project aims to add 800 to 1,000 square meters of space and equip the facility with modern stage technology, potentially making it one of the most modern theaters in the Balkan region. The building is currently under the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
