Cycladic Biennale in Naxos

The inaugural Cycladic Biennale, titled ‘What Re-mains’, is being held in Naxos, Greece, through September 18, 2026. As the first international contemporary art biennale in a Greek island complex, the event serves as an investigation into memory, cultural decentralization, and the connection between art and local society.

The program features 66 participants, including artists and collectives from Greece and abroad, utilizing the island’s landscape, architecture, and history. Activities are hosted across various locations, such as the former Ursuline School in Chora Castle and the Iakovos Kampanellis Theatre Museum, and include lectures, workshops, and musical performances.

Supported by the Municipality of Naxos and Lesser Cyclades under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, the event also includes corporate sponsorship from Square Lime. The initiative aims to use culture as a pillar for sustainable tourism development, responding to growing traveler interest in destinations with authentic local identities.
