Cyprus school infrastructure development

Overview

In Cyprus, the Ministry of Education is managing various school infrastructure projects in the Ypsonas and Kourion Municipality areas. While the construction of a new Ypsonas Kindergarten and Primary School has been included in the 2027-2029 Medium-Term Fiscal Framework and a public kindergarten is currently under construction with €1.3 million in funding, other projects face delays.

The construction of a new Ypsonas Gymnasium is currently in the study stage, pending the identification of a suitable site by the Department of Town Planning and Housing. A proposed new Lyceum is awaiting a necessity assessment by the Directorate of Secondary General Education. To support maintenance and safety, the Ministry has allocated €800,000 to the West Limassol School Board for building improvements.
