Czech delivery service updates and features
Overview
Czech delivery companies Zásilkovna and PPL have introduced several service changes to increase customer flexibility. Zásilkovna implemented a feature allowing recipients to redirect shipments to different locations or Z-BOX units once per order, subject to sender approval. Additionally, individual entrepreneurs can now have shipments received by third parties, such as mailrooms or warehouses, if they provide a signature and company stamp.
PPL has extended the storage duration for shipments at pickup points, allowing customers to pay a fee via the PPL app to extend storage by two, four, or six days. Meanwhile, Czech Post’s Balíkovna service announced a new price list for November, which includes price increases for certain parcel sizes and addresses, alongside new discounts for high-volume e-shop operators.
Following these service changes, Zásilkovna released a redesigned mobile application aimed at streamlining delivery management. The update includes faster tracking, the ability to reroute parcels in transit, and new payment options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and QR codes. The company also introduced the Zásilkovna ID, which uses a QR code to auto-fill delivery details for frequent senders, reportedly reducing manual entry time by up to 90 percent.
