Czech entertainment and cinema news

Overview

Recent reports cover various developments in Czech film and television. In cinema, discussions include the release of Jan Komasa’s thriller ‘Hodnej je’. Set in Britain, the film explores destructive family dynamics through an unsettling experiment involving a man named Chris, his son Tommy, his wife Kathryn, and a migrant cleaning lady, Rina, who is pressured to participate to secure her legal status.

Historical trivia regarding actress Iva Janžurová was also noted. While she was offered the role of Vilma Krausová in the film ‘Pelíšky’, she declined because she could not accept the character’s scripted death, proposing instead that the character survive. The role was ultimately played by Emília Vášáryová.

In television, dancer Filip Hudlický reported that his StarDance partner, Petra Nesvačilová, suffered a fractured metatarsal bone after falling into a floor opening during a technical rehearsal.
