Czech Republic flood management and repair efforts

Overview

The Czech Republic is implementing long-term flood risk management and repair strategies following extreme flooding events.

The Ministry of the Environment has proposed management plans for the 2028–2033 period, focusing on the Elbe, Oder, and Danube river basins. These plans involve riverbed modifications and protective embankments for hundreds of municipalities.
