Czech Republic infrastructure and road construction
Overview
Infrastructure projects and construction works are causing various transportation disruptions across the Czech Republic.
In the Prague region, access to Václav Havel Airport from Kladno and Slaný is restricted due to the second stage of the Aviatická junction construction on the D7 motorway. Starting September 9, 2026, the exit toward the airport in that direction is closed, requiring drivers to use an official detour via Evropská street and Lipská street. This closure is expected to last until September 25, 2026.
Simultaneously, significant reconstruction is occurring on the D5 motorway between Nýřany and Sulkovec, where traffic is being diverted into a single lane to allow for the replacement of aging concrete surfaces. Other regional disruptions include sewage construction in Havlíčkův Brod, bus route rerouting in Habry, and various road closures for repairs or local festivities in Přibyslav, Světlá nad Sázavou, and Libice nad Doubravou.
