Czech Republic sports infrastructure development

Overview

The Czech Republic is undergoing various developments in sports infrastructure. In the South Bohemian Region, officials are planning a national sports center at the Složiště site in České Budějovice. This proposed complex is intended to include an Olympic-standard swimming pool, an athletics hall, a floorball hall, and a recovery center. There are also discussions regarding the potential construction of the country’s first speed skating oval at the site, though this depends on securing state support.

Broadening regional efforts, other parts of the country are modernizing existing facilities and constructing new ones. Notable projects include the 442 million CZK reconstruction of the winter stadium in Opava, the addition of a padel court in Ostrava, and the development of a new football training center in Nová Ves. Other localized improvements include a new streetpark in Žďár nad Sázavou, a modernized climbing wall in Plzeň-Doudlevce, and a new roller sports arena in Prague 6.
