Overview

Infrastructure maintenance on the D2 motorway in Slovakia has progressed through several phases of reconstruction and repair.

In late July 2026, the Bratislava Regional Authority (BSK) implemented closures at the Malacky interchange. This work involved the closure of off-ramps and connector lanes for ten days to facilitate deep-milling and the application of a new surface on a highway bridge. Following this, the National Highway Company (NDS) initiated phased repairs on the Lanfranconi Bridge near the Sitina tunnel.

These subsequent repairs included replacing bridge joints and milling the road surface to lay new asphalt. To manage high traffic volumes, NDS scheduled works in stages, including overnight shifts to minimize disruption to morning rush hours and utilizing the summer period to mitigate the impact of construction on commuters.
