In Da Nang, authorities have taken legal action following a violent street brawl involving two groups of youths that was triggered by provocations on TikTok. The incident, which occurred in late August, involved high-speed chases and the use of weapons such as knives, spears, and pepper spray. The clashes resulted in multiple injuries, including one individual being stabbed, and caused harm to uninvolved bystanders and property.

Following the investigation, police prosecuted 25 individuals for “disturbing public order.” Additionally, authorities identified and fined five individuals for livestreaming scenes of the violence and public disorder on TikTok to gain social media engagement. Police confiscated mobile phones used in these broadcasts and ordered the removal of the content, warning that such actions can incite further lawbreaking.
