In mid‑July 2026, Daegu’s Dalseo‑gu district chief unveiled a plan to merge small festivals into a flagship “Mureungdowon Festa” at Moonlight waterfront park, aiming to boost resident happiness and drive cultural and economic growth. The proposal was part of a broader agenda that also mentioned the DS‑Valley industrial‑zone transformation and a new city administration building.

A week later, Daegu escalated its development drive by hosting a policy forum on attracting a second round of public‑agency relocations. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is drafting a relocation roadmap, and the city highlighted its transport, medical, cultural, educational, and housing assets. Officials linked the agency influx to five future‑industry clusters—AI, robotics, semiconductors, mobility and bio‑medicine—and listed dozens of potential agencies to be moved to Daegu.
