Daulton Varsho wrist injury and surgery
Overview
Houston Astros outfielder Daulton Varsho was sidelined in late September 2026 due to a left wrist injury involving two cysts. Varsho had reportedly been playing through the discomfort for approximately three months, dating back to before his trade from the Toronto Blue Jays to Houston in August.
Following the injury, Varsho underwent left arthroscopic wrist surgery, which ended his 2026 season. As a result, he was excluded from the Astros’ Wild Card Series roster against the Chicago White Sox. Varsho, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, struggled offensively following the trade, posting a .172 batting average during his tenure with Houston.
