Daytona Series B funding and valuation

Overview

Daytona, a provider of cloud infrastructure for AI agents, reached a $1 billion valuation following a $60 million Series B funding round. The round was led by FirstMark Growth and included participation from corporate investors such as Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next, and Okta Ventures, as well as high-profile individual investors including Patrick Collison, Tobi Lütke, Aravind Srinivas, Eric Yuan, and Adam D’Angelo.

The company’s ‘Agent Execution Cloud’ provides isolated, sandboxed computing environments across Linux, Windows, and macOS. This infrastructure is designed to handle the unique requirements of AI agents, such as millisecond-level startup times and the ability to maintain state during unpredictable tasks. Daytona’s client base includes model developers like Meta and Cohere, alongside companies such as Writer, Clay, and Postman.

CEO Ivan Burazin noted that the technology is designed to be at least 36% faster than Kubernetes for specific agent-related jobs. Burazin also highlighted a potential future “CPU crunch” that could exceed current GPU shortages due to the heavy CPU reliance of AI agent sandboxes.
