Jiang, a paranormal content creator who specialized in investigating abandoned buildings and challenging superstitions, had between 1.3 million and 1.5 million followers on Douyin. She suffered traumatic brain injury, hemorrhagic shock, organ failure, and blood-clotting issues, remaining in intensive care on a ventilator for nearly a month before passing away at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital.

Her death has triggered online debate regarding her previous content, specifically a video from August 2025 in which she destroyed a clay statue of the Buddhist goddess Guanyin. She presented the act as an experiment to test the consequences of breaking religious icons. While some social media users have characterized the accident as ‘karma,’ there is no evidence connecting the two events. Her family has released a statement via her Douyin account requesting that the public respect the facts and refrain from spreading unverified information or speculation.
