Delhi festival preparations and celebrations

Overview

The Delhi government initiated preparations for major upcoming festivals, including Ramlila, Durga Puja, and Chhath Puja, by forming three special committees. Directed by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, these committees were tasked with managing security, traffic, sanitation, electricity, and medical services. To streamline administration, a single-window system for No Objection Certificates was established through District Magistrate offices.

Following these preparations, Ramlila celebrations commenced across various locations in Delhi. In Paschim Vihar, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta inaugurated festivities organized by the Shri Ramlila Committee, which featured large-screen presentations of the Ramayana. In Rohini, the Sanatan Sanskaaram Society launched its ‘Adwitiya Ramlila 2026’ at the Sector 23 Ramlila Ground, featuring devotional music and theatrical episodes such as Sita Swayamvar and Lanka Dahan.
