Delta Air Lines emergency flight diversions

A series of Delta Air Lines flights required emergency diversions due to various in-flight incidents.

On August 25, Flight 437, a Boeing 757-200 traveling from Los Angeles to Boston, diverted to Detroit after the captain reported experiencing abdominal pain. The captain stated, “This is the captain. I am the one who is ill. I’m gonna taxi the jet to the gate, and then I need to go to the hospital.” The aircraft landed safely, and a new crew completed the journey to Boston.

On September 6, Flight 2311, a Boeing 737-900 flying from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, diverted to Las Vegas following a cabin pressurization issue. Oxygen masks deployed at 36,200 feet, prompting a rapid 27,000-foot descent. No injuries were reported.

On September 15, Flight DL45, a Boeing 767-300ER traveling from Dublin to New York, declared an in-flight emergency over the Atlantic Ocean. The aircraft broadcasted a ‘squawk 7700’ code before performing a U-turn and landing back in Dublin. The specific cause of the emergency has not been officially confirmed.
