Overview

Health authorities in São Paulo have confirmed 58,683 cases of dengue since the beginning of the year, resulting in 42 confirmed deaths and 30 additional deaths under investigation. The municipality of Taubaté has recorded the highest number of disease-related deaths.

In response to the outbreak and the El Niño phenomenon, the State Health Secretariat has implemented a health preparation and response plan. This includes strengthening surveillance, identifying priority regions, and allocating over R$ 1.5 billion to 645 municipalities to bolster primary healthcare networks.
