Denmark highway resurfacing summer 2026

Overview

In late July 2026 the Danish Road Directorate announced that the Aarhus N interchange on the E45 would be closed for asphalt laying and safety‑strip installation from 2 August to 21 August. The closure would affect several entrance and exit ramps while the main carriageway remained open with reduced lanes and speed limits.

A week later, in early August, the Directorate began additional resurfacing projects. On 10 August work started on Route 11 near Rejsby and Brøns, replacing worn pavement over two sections for about four weeks. A second project commenced on 16 August on a seven‑kilometre stretch of the E45 south of the Gudenåen near Randers, with night‑time work, lane closures, and temporary diversions. All efforts aim to improve road surface quality while minimizing disruption for motorists.
