Development and retail expansion in Cameroon and Gabon

Overview

Regional development and commercial expansion are progressing in Cameroon and Gabon. In Cameroon, the Groupe Neptune has inaugurated the Maithé Mall in Obala, which Minister of Commerce Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana described as a ‘next-generation shopping center’ intended to support local agropastoral products and the Lekié region's economy.

Furthering retail growth in Cameroon, the French company Groupe Duval announced an €18 million investment to develop Sadi Mall in northern Douala. Expected to open by the end of 2026, the complex will include retail units, a business center, and a food court, aiming to create several hundred jobs through its partnership with the Cameroonian group Arno.

In Gabon, development efforts include a residential project in Makokou involving the construction of 50 modern villas in the Maïga district. Additionally, the municipal government in Port-Gentil has transitioned from planning to execution by reviewing approximately thirty public procurement files related to roadworks, real estate, and technical equipment.
