Simultaneously, the Commission de protection des données personnelles (CDP) hosted a workshop in Dakar regarding data governance. CDP President Ousmane Thiongane emphasized that a sustainable digital economy requires trust in personal data protection, focusing on balancing innovation like artificial intelligence with the regulation of cross-border data transfers.
