Digital transformation initiatives in Vietnam
Overview
Local authorities and security forces in Vietnam are advancing digital transformation and administrative reform initiatives across different provinces.
In Quang Tri province, Huong Hiep commune reported significant progress in digital citizenship and land data management. The commune successfully integrated essential public services into the National Public Service Portal and achieved high rates of electronic health record integration via the VNeID application. Furthermore, social security and social protection payments have largely transitioned to cashless bank account processing.
In Quang Ninh province, the Hoanh Mo Border Gate Border Guard Station has expanded these efforts by providing digital literacy training to local residents. Working with local committees and financial institutions, border guards have assisted citizens in activating VNeID accounts, accessing online public service portals, and utilizing QR codes for cashless transactions to improve the convenience of administrative procedures.
